Ever wanted to visit a city that is steeped in history, beauty, romance, and great food & drink? If so, Paris should be your next travel destination! With countless chocolate shops, authentic restaurants, and even the occasional cocktail bar; Paris has so much to offer the traveling foodie and/or cocktail tourist.
Looking for foodie things to do?
Try a guided chocolate shop tour through St. Germain. I did a walking tour and it’s a great way to experience everything from macaroons to madeleines and mousses to éclairs (and burn a few calories off at the same time). FYI, you must stop at Ladurée ~ my favorite treat is the salted caramel macaroons.
Also, be sure to visit Le Grande Epicerie Paris. Since 1988, this food ‘store’ has become a leading light in the world of Parisian gastronomy. Hand carved prosciutto stations, fresh baked baguettes, groceries, wine cellar, etc., this multi-level food mecca has it all. Be sure to check out the ‘water wall’ as I’ve never seen so many different types/brands of bottled water in my life.
Bonus: Stop by The Experimental Cocktail Club to experience one of the best cocktail immersions that Paris has to offer.
The atmosphere, the barmen, the music, and the drinks all add up to an amazing evening while you’re trying off-beat and unusual cocktails. Want to keep the party going? Later in the evening, visit The Beef Club basement for some super cool drinks and 80’s hip-hop. This spot definitely has some of the best burgers and cocktails in town.
